Wright House Project
This project had a very substantial elevation change from the driveway to the front door. Providing some definition for the main stair and creating a useable, inviting space around the home was the focus of the project.
The dry creek bed was designed to capture spring runoff and channel it into the drain down below. Maintaining a natural aesthetic involved using natural stone from the area and some native plant material throughout the project. With no irrigation on-site, drought-tolerant plant material was a must.
The focus of the project was to create an entrance that really matched the grandeur of the home itself without upstaging it.
Having clients like the Rorisons is a designer's delight. With a few suggestions during the initial site visit, I pretty much had carte-blanche to create an outdoor living space that really blew us all away once completed.
The pool area in back was a design-build that really blossomed into something spectacular as the construction phase progressed. By matching the hard lines of the house while adding a few subtle contours to emulate the pool, the desired hardscape was achieved without overpowering the home.
With phase 1 of the project completed, I really look forward to carrying on in phase 2 next spring.
This project was another carte-blanche during the design phase.
The focus was to create a space that was large enough to accommodate your average Italian get-together with enough low-maintenance plant material to soften the hardscaping.
Once again, low-voltage lighting was essential in accenting this project. The ambience created by the fixtures really made the whole project come together.
The focus for this project was to turn the rock bluff directly behind their house into an area that they could enjoy. The 2 major factors were access and limited space.
As you can see from the pictures, the area was successfully transformed from a rocky slope into a comfortable patio.
The site logistics on this project involved another major elevation change.
The design purpose was to create a useable area out of the double black diamond they had as a side yard.
After a lengthy design phase, our construction crew hit the slope and created a beautiful courtyard that was softened up by the surrounding planting beds.
The landscape lighting really accented the job and allowed the Babics to enjoy their new yard any time of day.
